Truly a gem, especially for a park so close to a major city, Cottonwood Creek has us aromatically wrapped in cedar-scented comfort.
Our site 11, FHU.
The Owner has planted many sites with agave, opuntia and various herbs. There is rosemary growing everywhere. Do not drive 7.7 mph… or else!
We’ve got plenty of space. Privacy forward and starboard, neighbors to port and a lovely creek to stern.
But the real treasures are found back beyond the campsites, where there are acres and acres of old growth cedar. The birds are bountiful, the deer plentiful. The paths are all mulched in cedar, making them soft and wonderfully bouncy underfoot. There are artistically arranged collections of rocks, old artifacts, fallen logs and branches and all varieties of interesting things to explore. I’ll get some pictures of the back country paths this evening.

What a little gem. I love it when I see campgrounds like this close to cities ... after all, some of our explorations will involve big cities :-)))
